They NEVER talked about all this in history class! This is SUCH a facinating book, and it makes you appreciate all that it took for this group of men to make it to the mouth of the Columbia river. One of my favorite books of all time!
This sucker was incredible! I borrowed it from my friend on a Saturday morning and read it all in less than 24 hours. It was THAT GOOD! I went on to find the actual diaries of the sailors and read them as well! Essex is the whaleship that Moby Dick was based on. Such an incredible tale!
